Just a quick note to say I am alive in Bucerias. Not much has happened since my last post. Finally received my FM3 Visa, but really to late to apply for work. We are leaving Mexico April 1 and will head north to Spokane. Stopping at relatives homes to bum food and drink. Will not stay long so as not to wear out my welcome. Will start posting more shortly as we head north. I thought most of you were tired of hearing about warm weather, fresh seafood, cold beer and pina coladas. It has been a great adventure but looking forward to coming home.

Only 21 days left, can you believe it. No one has said they even missed me, some may not even know I left. For those of you that are looking forward to my return, should be home April 8 in time for the surprise party. Right

We are almost out of time and will be heading north soon.  We are going whale watching tomorrow. Alot of whales down here this year. We finally applied for our FM3 Visas, so should start looking for work soon. The plan is to come home and put the house up for sale and return down again this winter and buy a small casa. The church here is awesome and has lots of things to do to help the community. I do miss the NW and the climate changes, but not the cold. We have a couple of climate changes here, hot and hotter. Not really the temp. is 80-85 during the day and 60′s at night. Jennifer and our son Eddie are teaching English and Spanish to alot of people. I think they are up to about 20 students or so.  Lots of children at the church take english lessons on Monday night.

Under 75 days to go and crying.

Went to the jungle today and pretended to be Tarzan.  Nothing like Ziplining through the trees. Fourteen total lines the highest 550 feet plus in the air, over 50 miles an hour. Not only is the ride exciting, but the walk up the trails to the lines gives you a great cardio(if you are in shape, tired muscles if you are not)I am taking 800mg Ibupronfen tablets for the pain in my muscles. Going to bed early and hope I can walk when I wake up(if I wake up).

Less than a 100 days and we will be heading north with the geese.

Eddie, Erik and Amanda(Erik’s girlfriend) arrived Weds. We took the boys to their old haunts in PV. Visited with their favorite waiter, Rojelo from the La Palapa restaurant. They haven’t seen him for over 10 years, since we started going to Bucerias. Fun to watch Rojelo’s expression when he saw them. It’s fun for Jen and me to see the young waiters that have grown into adults. Some only teens when we first met. Erik had a accident Friday when he was stung by a Manta Ray. Alot of pain for a short time. Bartender gave him tres shots of tequila, no pain. He is alright now. Moose is a celebrity on the streets of Bucerias. All the children love to pet his soft fur and hug him.

Jen and I have been working in Casa Hogar with the orphans on Friday, they seem to look forward to our arrivals. Lots of hugs seems to be their main focus.  Eddie, Erik and I, with the help of the children cleaned off the basketball court(construction debris)and played soccer for a hour or so. Jen teaches english to two 17 yr olds that will be leaving the program soon. They need english if they are going to work in the tourist trade.

About 100 days to go before we return to Cheney and real life.

Sorry for the long time in between posts. I have become a Mexican. Everything can be done manana. I am still plugging away with espanol. Doing Rosetta Stone instead of Jennifer Hudson. When I am not working on my spanish, We have been working at the Casa Hogar Orphanage. I play games with the children, Jennifer works in the nursery and teaches English to two of the older children that will be able to leave when they are 18. With English they will be able to work in the tourist industry. On Saturdays I help feed the children of Bucerias and the parents that participate in Kilo for Kilo. A work program that when they help clean up the community the church gives them food supplies and serves them breakfast. We have had up to 300 children and parents show up. So if you would like to see God in action, come spend a week down here. We have a spare bedroom.

Who knows how many days I have left before I come home. Not enough I am afraid.

Jennifer and I spent Friday and Saturday helping at a couple of orphanages and the church we are attending. Friday I help serve lunch to the children at Casa Hogar. Jennifer worked with a couple of older children to learn english. Saturday morning helped serve breakfast and distribute food bags to almost 200 people. They have a program called A Kilo For A Kilo. You sign up to help clean up around Bucerias, then on Saturday you receive a bag of food. Jennifer made sandwiches for Manos de Amor, a small orphanage in Bucerias. They had a pool party at one of the church member’s home. Lots of opportunities to serve down here.

Moose is getting braver, sneaking out of the fence and running down the road to hook up with some of his pet buddies.

I think there is about 120 something days left before we return to the U.S.  A guy can loose track of time down here. Thinking maybe we might stay longer.

Moose and I are back in Bucerias.  He did better on this flight, not near as crazy this time. We both have jet lag and have slept most of Monday away. Moose is not sure of his new surroundings, has been very timid about moving about. Hopefully we can get out tomorrow and do some walking and aclimate him to his new surroundings.

Moose say only 129 more days and he is ready to go back to the lake, the ocean makes him nervous.

Moose and I are in Phoenix, on our way back to Bucerias. Stopped in Phoenix to watch the Iowa State Cyclones and Arizona State Hockey. Two games one tonight and one on Sat. My son Erik is starting in goal tonight and hopefully Saturday. Moose did not like traveling 3rd class(In the cargo hold) Thought he should be in the cabin with his master. He probably had more room.  We will be back in Bucerias on Sunday night, hopefully can stay put for more than a week at a time.

Only a 132 days left of a really Great Mexico Adventure. Miss all of you and can’t wait to be back at my desk. Exit Real Estate-Jones and Assoc.

We have left Cancun and are making our way back to Bucerias. As soon as I get there I am off to Spokane to pick up Moosifur(my dog), spend a couple days there, then meet my son in Phoenix to watch the Iowa Cyclones play Arizona State in Hockey. Then Moose and I will head back to Bucerias on Sunday the 22nd. Sorry to hear about the cold weather Spokane is having.

Only 138 days until we return to be miserable cold with you.

Spent Sunday in lock down. Could not leave the Cancun Palace. So we spent the day playing bingo and watching football. Storm passed us by so they started letting us go outside. Some fantastic waves and high winds. Weather back to normal on Monday is the forecast.

Only 143 days until we return to reality
